The Big Island is the largest and most volcanically active of all Hawaiian islands. The island still grows every day because of its #1 tourist attraction (which also happens to be one of the most active volcanoes in the world): the Kilauea volcano.
The Big Island has quite some amazing white, black, and green sand beaches!

ITINERARY
Day 1 – Arrive in Kona and accommodation in our lodge
Day 2 – Hike to MAKALAWENA BEACH

A short drive today takes us to an elevation of 8000 ft into Bryce National Park. Take a stroll along the rim and marvel at the unique sandstone spires (hoodoos) that rise dramatically from the natural amphitheater. Hike down into the hoodoos for an up close and personal experience with this fascinating landscape. Hotel Ruby’s Inn
Day 3 – Two Steps Snorkel and Pu'uhonua O Hōnaunau – National Historical Park


An incredible turquoise bay along the Big Island’s western side, Honaunau Bay (or Two Step Beach / Pae’a) is among the best places in all of Hawaii to enjoy world-class snorkeling among impressive coral reefs and lava rock pathways.
After our snorkel we will experience a sacred Hawaiian place, Pu’uhonua O Hōnaunau
The full-length park film for Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park. “Those Are My Ancestors” tells of the life or death journey of a Hawaiian warrior who desperately seeks refuge at Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau. This spiritual sanctuary, commemorated today as Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park, was protected by Lono, the God of life. Today, the puʻuhonua continues to serve as a refuge for all peoples in our modern world.
DAY 4 – Hawaii Volcano Nat Park and falls

We will drive to the other side of the Island to the beaultful city of Hilo,
Located on the northeastern side of the island of Hawaiʻi, Hilo offers breathtaking natural beauty plus all the amenities of a vibrant town. On the geographic flipside of the volcanic Kohala Coast, the region is blessed with dramatic waterfalls, fertile rainforests and blooming gardens.
We will fisrt explore 2 of the most famous waterfalls, Rainbow falls, and Akaka Falls,
We will have lunch at Café 100, the birth place of the famous MocoLoco
After lunch we will head to our major destination , Hawaii Volcano Nat Park
awai‘i Volcanoes National Park protects some of the most unique geological, biological, and cherished cultural landscapes in the world. Extending from sea level to 13,680 feet, the park encompasses the summits of two of the world’s most active volcanoes – Kīlauea and Mauna Loa
we will explore the Thornton lava tube, we will hike the Kilauea Iki trail, and at night
See Halema‘uma‘u Crater after it doubled in size following seismic activity at Kīlauea’s and possible lava flow at a distance,
After the tour we will return to our accommodation in Kona .
DAY 5 - hike to Green Sand Beach – (PAPAKŌLEA) / MANTA RAY DIVE

Papakolea is one of only four green sand beaches in the world.
Green sand beach is one of the “once in a lifetime” places to visit on the Big Island. Its actual name is “Papakōlea beach” and it is one of two green sand beaches in the United States. The hike is about 2.5 miles(one way) and takes about 1 to 1 ½ hours each way.
At night we will dive with Manta rays
Head out into the Pacific Ocean off Kona to see the sunset over the water before diving in to enjoy swimming freely with Manta Rays in their underwater nighttime realm, an electric experience unlike anything else in the world.
Going on a manta ray night snorkel in Hawaii is an amazing and unforgettable experience. The Travel Channel says, “It’s one of the top ten things to do in your lifetime.”
DAY 6 – Kayak to Captain Cook - Kealakekua Bay

Kealakekua Bay is a Marine Life Conservation District perfect for snorkeling, scuba diving and kayaking. The bay’s brilliant waters are filled with coral and schools of tropical fish.
We will kayak to the bay and enjoy the most beautiful place to snorkel in the Big island,
The kayak tour takes about 4,5 hours round trip
Day 7 – Punalu’u – Black Sand Beach / Manini’owali Beach

Have you ever seen a beach with black sand? Because of constant volcanic activity, you’ll find white sands and black sands on the island of Hawaiʻi. Located on the southeastern Kaʻū coast, Punaluʻu Black Sand Beach is one of the most famous black sand beaches in Hawaiʻi. we will spend the morning at Punalu’u beach,
After lunch we will head to another beach paradise, MANINIʻOWALI BEACH (KUA BAY)
Perched on a private peninsula, Maniniʻowali offers some of Kona’s clearest ocean views. Its three-quarter-mile white-sand beach backed by lava rock and the turquoise reef is a perfect spot for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling or kayaking.
Day 8 – After breakfast we will head to Kona airport where ends our expedition
